Snowmass Alpacas

Snowmass Alpacas is the largest alpaca breeder in the United States, and is focused on producing high quality fleece for use in the U.S. textile industry. The alpacas are pastured on 600 acres of grass in New York State, and cared for by a team of twelve.

Alpacas are among the few commercial fiber production species that are native to the western hemisphere, and their beautiful fleece reflects untold generations of breeding selection by the indigenous peoples that domesticated them.

We are grateful to play a very small role in preserving and extending that legacy.
